Marlyn Deis

Marlyn Joan Deis passed away on December 12, 2013 at St Vincent Hospital with her family at her side. Marlyn was born on April 17, 1941, in Billings to Reinhold and Amelia Neuhardt. She attended Billings Sr. High School. On October 12, 1957 in Laurel, Montana, Marlyn married her life-long partner, Richard Deis. Richard and Marlyn later made their home in Billings and added 2 sons to their young family. In her early years, Marlyn ran a beauty shop out of her home. She was also active in ceramics and enjoyed sharing her talent with her many students and the residents of St. John's Nursing Home. Later, Marlyn volunteered to help struggling readers at a couple of local elementary schools and wrapped up her working career as a cook at Riverside Middle School. Marlyn was also an avid gardener and spent numerous hours lovingly tending her beautiful roses. Marlyn's love and passion for baseball was second only to the love she had for her grandchildren. She was an extremely proud Grandmother and just recently joined the ranks of Great-Grandma. Marlyn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sharon McMillen. Survivors include her husband Richard, sons Rick (Linda) Deis, Kevin (Marlene) Deis, grandchildren Joel (Alyssa) Deis, Evan Deis, Scott Deis, Hollie Deis, and great grandson Preston Deis. Service: Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday with the Vigil starting at 6:00 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Little Flower Church. Committal will be Holy Cross Cemetery.
