Richard Deis

Richard James Deis left this earth and was reunited with his beloved wife on May 25, 2019. He was born August 5, 1934 to Frank & Barbara Deis in Mandan, ND. The family moved to Laurel, MT where Richard graduated from Laurel High School in 1953. After graduation, Richard joined the United States Navy and proudly served until he was honorably discharged. On October 12, 1957 Richard married the love of his life, Marlyn Neuhardt. Richard & Marlyn made their home in Billings and soon added 2 sons to their family. Richard worked in the sheet metal trade until he retired. He was a master in his trade & spent many years training new apprentices. Richard was also very active with the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the 4th Degree Team and served as a Grand Knight. In his free time, Richard enjoyed working with wood. His grandchildren benefitted from the toys & rocking horses that were lovingly crafted just for them. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Loretta and brother, Tom. Survivors include his sister, Donna, brother, Francis, sons, Rick (Linda), Kevin (Marlene), grandchildren, Joel (Alyssa), Evan, Scott, Hollie (Ben), and great-grandchildren, Preston & Everett.
