Obituary
Mary DeJarnett, 71, passed away March 15, 2010 after a long illness. She was born to Kay and Ed Toohey in Billings, Montana on December 16, 1938. Mary grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1956. She married Don DeJarnett in Sheridan, Wyoming in 1957. They moved to Billings in 1962.Mary earned a BA and Master's in English from EMC and began teaching at Senior High School in 1972 and retired there 25 years later.Mary enjoyed her garden, where she grew flowers and vegetables. After retirement she took up watercolor painting and growing orchids. She loved nature and being outdoors. She was the center of her close family and will be deeply missed.Mary is survived by her husband Don; four daughters, Kay (Joe) Seder of Billings, Susan DeJarnett of Colstrip, Jennifer Webb of Riverton, WY and Julie (Bob) Brown of Coeur d'Alene, ID; three grandchildren, Parker Brown of Billings, Chelsea Brown of Coeur d'Alene, ID and Mason Webb of Riverton, WYFuneral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Mary was the English department Chairman when I began teaching English at Senior High. She was simply the kindest person I have ever known. She was a true lady and her children are so lucky to have called her "mother". We all loved her. Her passing is going to profoundly affect those of us at Senior who had the priviledge of knowing her. I am thinking of her family at this time as I know they are grieving deeply.
