Obituary
Anton "Mokey" Dinius passed away at his home on March 2nd, 2015 after a courageous three year battle with lung cancer. Mokey, the youngest of twelve children, was born on February 4th, 1935 in Manning, North Dakota to Carl and Ida (Hitchrick) Dinius. After Killdeer High School, he volunteered and served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956 patrolling the East-West German border. Mokey was a graduate of Dickinson State Teacher's College and received his Masters in Education from North Dakota State University. He was inducted into the Dickinson State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1985. Mokey worked as a teacher and school superintendant in North Dakota from '59 to '72; owned and operated a bowling alley/cafe in New England, ND from '73 to '78; owned and operated a mobile home court in Port Orchard, WA in '78; and worked at Burlington Northern for 18 years in Dickinson, ND. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Lefor, ND and The American Legion of New England, ND. He enjoyed playing cards, spending winters in his motor home in Phoenix and was an avid Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees and Notre Dame Football fan. Mokey is preceded by his parents, 9 siblings and 2 brothers-in-law. He is survived by his wife Jane of 49 years; children Jill (Brian) Brown of Billings, Doug of Billings, Mark, Jason (fiance Monica) of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Rachel, Nicholas and Logan Brown; brother Valentine (Terry) of San Leandro, CA; sister Madeline Keller of Butte, MT; sister-in-law Evie Baxter and Leroy Reiner of San Jose, CA, Shirline Berger of Dickinson, ND and Mari Jo Sigl and Mark Klundt of Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law Vernon Sigl of Billings, MT and Eugene Sigl of Dickinson, ND; numerous nieces and nephews; and many life-long friends. Special thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice for their compassionate care, the volunteer valet's and doctors at Billings Clinic. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 24th at Dahl Funeral Chapel.

Jane and children, So sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and father. I will always remember him as my teacher in our high school years. Jane so sorry, it is always hard to lose someone no matter how old. Hold on to all the good times you two had and know a part of hm will always be with you. Dear Jane and family, Our sympathy and prayers to you all with the passing of Mokie. What a full life he had in his work and fun and wonderful family he and you raised. We remember the challenges and fun times we all had in Mandaree. All the young new teachers he directed and guided and the friendships and fun that resulted in us all living in the small community. So sorry to learn of Mr. Dinius's passing. Way back when he was my History (?) teacher in Alexander, ND & he lived at my (later) in-laws hotel. My deceased husband played football under his coaching. I haven't seen him since I graduated in 1961, but have thought of him many times over the years. May God give you peace & courage as you learn to live without him. God Bless you & your family. To all of Mokey's Family, So very sorry to hear about Mokey. I remember going to their house in Killdeer and visiting with his mother, Aunt Ida, and him. I remember him always having a basketball bouncing. We certainly enjoyed visiting with you both when we were in Billings in May of 2013.
