Virginia Dobrovolny

Virginia “Ginger” Royce Dobrovolny, 75, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Billings Clinic. She was born June 24, 1935 at Star School on the Blackfoot Reservation, the daughter of Charles “Royce” and Eva (DeWolfe) Hannon. She grew up in the Browning, Babb and Cut Bank area where she attended school. They lived on a cattle ranch near the Canadian border with over 500 cattle and 1000 acres of grassland.When Ginger was eighteen she met Robert “Bob” Dobrovolny and they were married July 16, 1954. They moved to Ross, North Dakota to his familys farm which they farmed for thirty years. They then moved back to Babb where she worked for the park service. She purchased the Point Drive-In in Cut Bank and ran that for almost a decade. After Bobs death, Ginger moved back to Babb where she lived until 2008, then joined her son in Big Lake, Minnesota.Ginger was active in the churches in her communities. She enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, and loved Gospel music, including the Gaithers and Jack Gladstone. Ginger was a friend to all she met and knew. She was a talented and wonderful mother, grandmother and sister.Ginger is survived by her children, Joel Emery (Sue) Dobrovolny, Beth (Roland) Kringle, Robert (Laura) Dobrovolny; Roberta (Al) Buette; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Fern Moore, Timi Wheeler; brothers Gary, Jim, Rick and Charles Hannon; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother Jerri Hannon; husband Bob Dobrovolny; grandson Lil Robert and stepson Randy.Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5 at the Babb United Methodist Church.
