Obituary
Patricia Duletsky, 70, passed away on January 31, 2017, due to complications from health issues. Patricia Ann Dahl was born on February 26, 1946, in Valley City, ND, to Marvin and Beatrice Dahl. She spent her early years in Valley City, but later moved to Ellendale. After high school and a year or two at the local college, she moved to Billings, Montana. Being new to the “big city,” she got involved in the “Pat” club, a Catholic singles group. It was there that she met her future husband, Stan Duletsky. They were married on May 10, 1968. After having two children, Tanya and Todd, one of her biggest accomplishments was going back to college and getting her accounting degree. Patricia loved bowling; she spent many years in different leagues with Stan or her girlfriends. She enjoyed challenging her mind with crosswords and other brain teasers. She always enjoyed her dogs, of which she had many throughout the years. Pat and Stan also loved seeing their grandchildren when they visited, or when they were able to make it to Wyoming. She battled and beat breast cancer in 2015! She was a diehard Mustangs fan, and even tried to schedule her cancer treatments so as not to miss too many of their home games. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Doris Moslet (who was a second mother to her); and son, Todd. She is survived by her husband, Stan; daughter, Tanya (Monte) Reed; four grandchildren, Hannah, Benjamin, James and Matthew; brother, Leon; sister, Cindy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held on February 6, at 1pm, at St. Pius X Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to PEAKS, ℅ St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation. Pat and I were best friends in high school, nearly inseperable for 3+ years. We visited on the phone nearly every night and I thought everything she said (she did most of the talking!) was hilarious. My mother used to come into the kitchen after our talks and say, "Patty Dahl must be the funniest person in the world because all I hear from you is constant laughing!" I spent many Friday nights for sleepovers at Patty's because she had her own room and I had to share a bed with my sister. She had a small phonograph and we'd play all the 45 RPM records we each owned most of the night. As we started dating boys, we double dated sometimes. When Pat decided to move to Montana after our first year in college, I was devastated. I didn't know how I could continue to live without her around. During that first year of college we were both went with our dates for a drive to Frederick, SD. My date started speeding up and pretty soon was pushing his old Ford up over 100 mph.. Just as he hit that speed, we could hear a siren blaring behind us and up drove Pat's dad, the Ellendale policeman. She tried to hide down on the floor but he saw her and she was busted! I don't know what happened to her when she got home, but my boyfriend definitley got a ticket. Patty had the nicest parents, brother and sister. I still don't know what Pat did with Cindy when I slept over at the house, but I know she never bugged us like my sister would have! I am so glad that we did see each other at the 50th class reunion and had a chance to visit with her and Stan. Of course we talked of getting together after that, and of course, life interferred with another reunion. I will miss Patty forever and hope to see her again in a better place.
