Jerry Dunbar

Jerry Lee Dunbar, 56 was born August 25, 1955 in Grand Island, Nebraska to George and Irene Dunbar. Our son, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on May 20, 2012. Jerry lived in several different states while growing up, before moving to Billings when his father retired from the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Senior High School in 1974. Jerry was well known in the bowling world, having worked at various bowling alleys in the Billings and surrounding areas. His life was dramatically changed in 1983 when he fell 80 feet from a radio tower. Although Jerry was seriously injured, he made a good recovery and went on to try several different areas of work. He enjoyed being a caretaker at Oscars Dreamland and his love of the outdoors took him to several ranching opportunities. He recently moved back to Billings and was working at Sunset Bowling Alley at the time of his death. Jerry leaves behind his father George; brothers: David, Carl (Shelly); sisters: Vicki (Dusty) Gress, Nancy Brink; Nephews: Christopher, Matthew, Taylor Dunbar, Bill and James Gress, Tom and Tim Corbin; nieces: Nicole Corbin, Shawna Rudio, Nicole Warner; great nieces and nephews: Rian Gress, Trey and Maybrie Corbin as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Irene and his brother Chris. Service: Visitation for Jerry will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012. A funeral service for Jerry will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Cremation will take place and his ashes will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at a later date.
