Obituary
Virginia Lee Ellis, 85, of Billings, Montana, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2013. Ginny was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 31, 1928, to Walton Brunson and Lucia Proctor. She spent most of her early life in Baltimore where she met Jim Ellis, whom she wed on February 23, 1945, after he completed his service in the Navy. Throughout her life, Ginny was the beloved matriarch of a large family who devoted herself to the care of not only her children, but her mother, brother, two sisters, nieces, nephews, and her grandchildren. Throughout her life Ginny served through her hobbies. The many clothes and quilts she made warmed her family and friends during both hard and great times. The countless cross-stitchings that she gracefully made line the walls of many homes from California to Maryland. They serve as precious memories of the care and devotion that she felt towards her family. Many Sunday meals and holidays were shared because of her desire to keep a close, caring, and loving family. It was her personality, warmth, humor, and love that kept us together all those years. Her love and adoration of those around her will be missed and leaves an emptiness in those who loved her dearly and remain. She was preceded in death by her younger brother, Walton G. Brunson and her younger sister, Shirley Bergfield. Ginny is survived by her husband, Jim Ellis; her youngest sister, Cherie Shoemaker; her oldest son, James B. Ellis; her daughter, Debra Lee Pringle; her youngest son, J. Scott Ellis; her eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and her dear extended family and friends. Service: A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 19, 2013, at Dahl Funeral Chapel with Rev. Linda McCloud of Holy Cross Church Episcopal officiating.
