Marjorie Engleking

Marjorie Ann (Kenck) Engleking passed away peacefully on May 1, 2014 in Vancouver, WA. Marge was born September 14, 1923 in Butte, MT to Hugo and Maude Kenck, and grew up in Los Angeles, CA where she met the love of her life, Don Engleking. Marge & Don were married on January 2, 1943 and made their home in Butte, MT where she worked as a legal secretary. After raising 2 children, they moved to Billings, MT where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Montana College in 1970. Marge had a passion for education and became an exceptional and talented teacher. She loved her students and was a Special Education teacher, retiring in 1985 from Rose Park Elementary School. She was an active member of the St Patrick's parish in Billings, volunteering there, the Billings Zoo and other organizations. Marge took pride in growing roses, had a great sense of humor, lots of patience, and a heart full of love for family, friends, her beloved cats Aspen & Romeo, and favorite gift of See's candy. She is survived by her son Jon (Dee) Engleking of Vancouver, WA and her daughter Jan (Brian) Ames of Heyburn, ID; her grandchildren, Robyn Engleking of Beaverton, OR, Larry Glenn of Murray, UT, Jon (Lieveke) Engleking of Newport Beach, CA, Mark Engleking of Federal Way, WA, Amber (Sheldon) Lynch of Burley, ID, Matthew (Melinda) Engleking of Sacramento, CA, 7 great- grandchildren, her brother, Jack (Esther) Kenck of Vancouver, WA, nephews Alan (Pat) Kenck of Hercules, CA and Tom (Denise) Kenck of Felton, CA; and niece Trish Kenck of Washougal, WA. Marge was preceded in death by her husband and parents. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on August 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with inurnment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Billings Humane Society to honor her love of animals.
