Barbara Fenster

Barbara Helmann Fenster age 94 of Billings, formerly of Auburn, Washington, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Billings.She was born February 27, 1916 at Mandan, North Dakota, the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Assel Rambur. As a young girl she lived at Huff, North Dakota on the farm and loved to ride horses and bring in the cows for milking. She grew up and attended school in Mandan, North Dakota. On September 22, 1936 she was united in marriage to John Helmann at St. Anthony, North Dakota. They had two children, Duane and Diane.On January 9, 1960 she married Albert Fenster. They lived in Auburn, Washington area for fifty years where she worked for twenty-three years as a riveter for Boeing Aircraft at the Renton plant. They moved to Billings in 2000.Barbara loved to dance. Even when she was vacuuming she would dance the polka around the living room. Albert and Barbara loved to dig clams at Ocean Shores near Hoquiam, Washington.She is survived by her daughter Diane (Bill) Reichert Williams of Billings, four grandchildren: Duane Helmann, Jr.and Robin Figueroa Reams of Hoquiam, Washington, Angela Reichert of Billings, and Barbara Reichert Jalbert of Burlingame, California, five great-grandchildren: Amber, Cala, Essie, Teqah and Monet.She was preceded in death by her first husband John Helmann, her second husband Albert Fenster in 2002, step-daughter Georgia Lee Fenster, son Duane Helmann, Sr. in 1974, brothers Nick and Joe, sisters Mary Nolan, Anna Andrews and Elizabeth Erhardt.Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Monday until 7:00 p.m with a Vigil service at 7:00 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral services and burial will take place in Auburn Friday, July 9, 2010. Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel.
