Laura Fontaine

Laura Fontaine passed away Friday night, January 8, 2016, surrounded by her family. Laura was born to George Ribble and Rose (Bosch) Ribble in Worland, Wyoming on April 3, 1926, one of 11 children. She graduated from high school there and worked in a portrait studio. She met and married Eldon J. Fontaine in 1946. They settled in Forsyth, Montana, where their four children were born and raised. Following Eldon's death in 1968, Laura pulled up stakes and moved to Billings and worked at Valley Nursing home until her retirement. Laura loved reading, gardening, and spending time with her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She joined Peace Lutheran Church soon after moving to Billings. Her congregation friends were special to her, especially those who shared “Widow's Row” in the sanctuary. Her four children survive Laura: Tom & his wife Rhea; John & his wife, Leanne; Mary Clark and Francie Riemann. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren: Darion & Jamie Fontaine, Michael, Heidi, & Raymond Fontaine, Craig & Chad Clark, and Travis, Scott, and Laurie Riemann. Laura also has nine great grandchildren. Laura's surviving brothers are Frank and George Ribble. Her surviving sisters are Joan, Mary Lou, Jessie, and Florence. She had many special nieces and nephews. Her parents, her husband, Eldon, four siblings, her very special Grandson Eric, and her son-in-law Curt Riemann preceded Laura in death. Services will be at Peace Lutheran Church, 1313 Avenue D, Billings, Montana, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 12, 2015, with a luncheon following. Private inurnment will occur at a later date.
