Obituary
Lyle Howard Forrester, 70, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 surrounded by his family, friends and the love of his life, his wife Sammi. He passed after having suffered fatal injuries in a tragic truck accident. He was one of six children, born March 20, 1949, to Olin Beltran Forrester and Nina June Bohn Forrester. Lyle was a very loving, compassionate, and considerate man and he touched many lives. He spent his entire life in Billings, where he grew up enjoying motorcycles, trucks, snowmobiling, and hunting, and making many lifelong friendships along the way. He served his country in the Air Force in both Vietnam and Thailand. Later in life he got interested in four wheeling and joined Treasure State ATV Association where he made many more friends. Lyle met the woman who was later to become his wife in 1995. Their life together was filled with love, friendship and adventure. Lyle is survived by his wife Sammi; four siblings Kent, Gary, Janet and Bonnie; Guy Miyagishima, who was like a son to him; many nieces, nephews, cousins and all his loving lifelong friends. A Celebration of Life for Lyle will be held at the Elks Club in Billings on Saturday, October 12, at 4:00 pm. Luncheon will be served and we encourage everyone to share their memories, funny stories and experiences they had with Lyle.

I went to school with Lyle at Lockwood from 1st grade through 9th, and then we went to Senior High together. Lyle was a nice kid and was friendly with everybody. We lived not too far from each other and had a few good times together. We use to go sledding on his lane. He had some cool ups and downs for sledding. One time we went up further on his folks' property in an open spot. We found a nice big hill and down we went! I went for a long ride, right up to a barbed wire fence. Scared the heck out of me!! In the summer we went into some dirt tunnels he and his brothers dug out around his folks' place. There were all sorts of little 'rooms'. I thought that was pretty cool. It was also a lot COOLER in there than outside! I have fond memories of Lyle. I am sorry for the loss of this great person to his wife, family, and friends. My sympathy to you all. We will sure miss Lyle. We had a lot of fun over the years playing games and sharing meals. I loved his hearty laughter where his body shook, his face turned red and the tears ran down his cheeks when he laughed so hard. He was one of the good ones. We loved him. Joanne and Ted Haverland

I have fond memories of Lyle as a kid. We met when my family moved to Lockwood when I was seven. Lyly was a fixture in my life through junior high. He was kind, fun and an all round good person. Unfortunately, I lost touch with Lyle over the years. My last visit with Lyly had to be when Bev Dahlstrom Flagler and I visited Lyle in the hospital in the mid seventies after he was hit by a construction vehicle while leaving the site on his motorcycle. He was very banged up and in traction but he was in good spirits and we did some reminiscing about " Lockwood" days. Such a tragedy that he was in another terrible accident.
