Obituary
Martha (Becker) Francis was born May 14, 1929 to John and Mollie (Gabel) Becker in Ballantine, MT. She met her lifelong love, Carl R. Francis, Jr., while attending school in Billings. On the heels of graduating from Billings Senior High in June, Martha married Carl on July 19, 1947. Their nearly 69 year journey created 4 children; Sandi Emborg (Dick), Ray Francis (Cindy), Warren Francis (Debbie) and Molly Metzger (Ken); 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Martha was "Gramma Francis" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as, their various friends and partners. She ushered them all into her home with a, "Hi, Babe!”, a full cookie jar, and the offer of homemade chocolate cake. For many years, Martha dedicated herself to helping with Special Olympics. She was always ready and willing to aide anyone with anything, whether it was an extra set of hands, her sewing expertise or her amazing baking skills. She found pleasure digging in her garden, planting her flowers, spoiling her "puppies", Gracie, Bridgette, Katy, Becky and Barney and having camping adventures. Most of all, Martha enjoyed having her large, loud, loving family around her. Martha slipped from her earthly home to be with the angels on March 21, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold. Martha is survived by her husband and her 4 children, her 9 grandchildren, Nadine Francis, Raelynn (Emborg) Melber, Jamie Francis, Bryan Emborg, Travis Francis, Ryan Zavarelli, Christopher Metzger, Randy Francis and Keith Metzger, her 11 great-grandchildren, as well as, several nieces, nephews and cherished friends. A celebration of Martha's life will be held on Monday, March 28 at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 328 South Shiloh Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Martha's name can be made to Special Olympics, Rocky Mountain Hospice, or a charity of your choice.

I remember Aunt Martha being a part of my life starting as a child. She was beautiful, smart, kind, and for me, she was the shining star of any gathering. I was fortunate in recent years to have visited with her a handful of times at gatherings.
We were all fortunate to have Martha in our lives! I am praying that God welcomes Martha to heaven and am sure that will happen. To those of you who very close to Martha, I'll pray for your comfort and am sorry for your loss.

My good friend Carl,
Doreen and I were so so sorry to read about the passing of your loving wife Martha. It certainly was a shock to us. The last time we saw you both was at our 50th here in Cody,
We have some great memories of the dating years, especially the long waits while you were saying good night. Your first housewarming was great-you had little furniture so we all sat on apple boxes. " Great Times!"
We are sorry due to our health we cannot come to Billings for Martha's services but your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
