John Fraser

John Richard Fraser, 40, of Billings, Montana passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 20, 2013. He was born April 12, 1973 in Columbus, MT, to Richard and Christine Fraser. The family moved to Pocatello, Idaho when he was a child, where he attended elementary school until moving to Billings. He attended Castle Rock Junior High School and Skyview High School before relocating to Elko, Nevada, where he graduated in 1991 from Elko High School. After high school, he moved back to Billings, where he met Dawn Bowman. While there, they started their family when John became the proud, doting dad of his first son, Hayden. They later moved to Denver, Colorado, and expanded their family with the arrival of his second son, Caleb. John enjoyed his boys more than anything in life, and they relocated for a short time to Worland, Wyoming before John returned home to Billings. To friends and family, he was better known as “Fraser” or “Franchise”. He was the San Diego Chargers #1 fan, “Go Bolts!”, and loved all sports; there wasn't a game that he didn't watch or enjoy. In life, he spent time golfing, camping, and spending time with close friends and family. He is survived by his sons, Hayden and Caleb, and ex-wife Dawn of Worland, WY; his parents, Dick & Chris of Elko, NV; his sisters, Sheila (Warren) Schaff of Billings, MT, Angela Fraser and son, Arik Hansen, and daughter, Alexis Hansen of Elko, NV, and Bridget (Ed) Paynter of Carson City, NV and daughter, Jordan (Cody) Shelton and grandson, Damon of Okinawa, Japan; Aunt Mayme (Art) Yates of Fishtail, MT and their sons Robert Yates of Fishtail, MT and Mark (Kathy) Yates of Sturgis, SD, and Aunt Kathie Brown of Woodburn, OR. He will also be missed greatly by several cousins and friends, including close family friends Pat (Mike) Lamoureux of Elko, NV; Robin (Stacy) Kroupa and daughter Madisyn of Elko, NV; Brandon Ferderer of Tempe, AZ; Tony Kozlowitz of Elko, NV. Service: Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held in Billings, MT on Thursday, July 25th at 10 o'clock am at Dahl Funeral Chapel and in Elko, NV on Saturday, July 27th at 11 am at Burns Funeral Home.
