Stanley Fredenburg

Stan Fredenburg, of Billings, Montana died Saturday, March 27, 2010 in Yuma, Arizona after a short illness. He was born at the Fort Lewis army base in Fort Lewis, Washington, May 26, 1931 to Stanley and Gertrude (Bailey) Fredenburg. Stan lived in Battleground, WA during his youth and moved to Billings in 1948 where he went to work for Solberg painting. He met and married Celestine (Sally) Schaff on September 1, 1951. He was then drafted into the army in 1953 and served in the Korean War; he was honorably discharged in 1954.Stan owned and operated C&C drywall construction and ceiling interiors. He retired in 1993 and he and Sally traveled the United States seeing and enjoying many different states. They became snowbirds in 2005 and now reside in Yuma for the winter months. Stan enjoyed the outdoors; he always enjoyed the time that he could spend with his family and friends at his cabin in Checkerboard, MT. He was an avid hunter, he enjoyed taking his ATV in the mountains, was the expert TV repairman in Checkerboard and was the president of the Checkerboard TV translator station. Stan also loved golfing with his many friends and family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge and The American Legion.Stan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally; his 5 children Ken Fredenburg, Susan Carlson, Jeannette Binns, Richard (Delinda) Fredenburg and Diana (Ken) Zentz; 10 grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon, Jerrid and Curtis Johnson, Justin Binns, Kimberly Johns, Kelli and Kathryn Zentz, Britney and Bridget Fredenburg; five great-grandchildren, Julia and Jamie Binns, Kane, Xadon and Taylor Johnson.He was dearly loved by his grandkids. He was a good man who always put his family before anything else and loved all of his grandkids very much. He always protected them and would do anything for them; he will be missed dearly.Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday with a Vigil Service 7:00 p.m. Monday at Dahl Funeral Chapel.
