Bernice Fry

Heaven has a new angel today. Bernice Hattie Wolff Fry, 97, passed away on November 28, 2013 after residing at Aspen Meadows constant care for 4 years. Bernice was born July 14, 1916 in Gage, MT to Hattie and Harry Wolff. She lived in a sod house with a dirt floor outside of Ryegate, MT until the family moved into Ryegate when she entered high school. After high school she moved to Billings where she attended the Billings Business College. Bernice met the love of her life Bill Fry, they were united in marriage Sept. 16, 1939. She worked as a secretary at Streeter Brothers Insurance then Messiah Lutheran Church while Bill was City Clerk of Billings for over 40 years. Both Bill and Bernice loved their escape from Billings to their cabin on the Stillwater River. She was a great seamstress, collector of many items and loved flowers and gardening both in Billings and on the Stillwater. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren attending many of their performances, games and activities. She beamed at anything they loved to do including painting rocks at the cabin. She was 'Grandma Fry' to everybody that knew her. She is preceded in her death by her husband of 40 years Bill Fry, her parents Harry and Hattie Wolff, her brother Lester Wolff, her sister Evelyn Wolff and great-grandson Keaton Schmiedeke. She is survived by her three children: Colleen Kriskovich (Ed), Dr. Bob Fry (Denyce) and Jerry Fry; eight grandchildren: Kevin Kriskovich (Shelly), Dr. Chad Kriskovich (Annie), Christie MacDonald (John), Craig Kriskovich (Misty), Kelly Kriskovich, Keri Fry-Fox, Rainey Schmiedeke (Scott), Daisy Fry (Anders Lorensen); fifteen great-¬grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff from Aspen Meadows for their care of Bernice in her last 4 years. They make a difficult job look easy with a personal attachment to everyone under their care. In lieu of flowers Bernice requested donations to Messiah Lutheran Church or Special K Ranch. Cemetery: Bernice will be laid to rest in Mountview Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Visitation: Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Service: Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church with a luncheon following the service.
