Sawyer Gantz

Sawyer Donovan Gantz of Ryegate, Montana, passed peacefully in the arms of his loving mother Jennifer Gantz on August 12, 2014. Sawyer was born on July 28, 2014 in a Billings hospital. During the fifteen short days here on Earth he touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. His life was a brief gift to us that will live on forever in many hearts. He was born at 26 weeks gestation and fought with great soul and strength to survive. He was later moved to a hospital in Salt Lake City after contracting an infection. The doctors did all they possibly could to save him, without success. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday at the cemetery in Ryegate, Montana, where family and friends will celebrate his short life on Earth and say their goodbyes. Following the service the family invites all to share in fellowship at the Ryegate fire hall. He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Gantz of Ryegate, Montana; sister, Samara Phelps of Ryegate; brother, Silas Jones of Ryegate; grandparents, Robin and Roudy Gantz of Ryegate; uncle Cody Gantz of Gillette, Wyoming, uncle Bobby Gantz of Ryegate, uncle Cooper Gantz of Ryegate, great-grandparents, Bob and Edith Sasse of Lavina, Montana; and great-grandfather, Jerry Gantz of Ryegate. He was preceded into heaven by his great-grandmother, Norma Gantz. Memorials may be made in Sawyer's name to the Ramsey Keller Memorial, 4456 Laredo Place, Billings, MT 59106.
