Obituary
On August 30, 2012, a beautiful soul, Leon Gardipee, passed away after a long and brave fight with cancer. He was 59 years old. An example to all of us, Leon never gave in and he lived every day thankfully, with great love and a quiet strength that was an inspiration to those who knew him. His humor and spirit will be remembered by all. Husband to Sarah, son-in-law to Barbara, father and grandfather to Jason and Kris, brother, uncle, friend and all around “cool dude“, Leon will be deeply missed by so many. Leon was the son of George and Grace Gardipee. A member of the Chippewa-Cree Tribe, and great grandson of Cree Chief Little Bear he took great pride in his Native American heritage. Service: Memorial services will be held to celebrate Leon's life 11 a.m. Saturday September 8, 2012 at Dahl Funeral Chapel with a luncheon to follow.

Dear Sarah, We didn't know Leon but want you to know your in our prayers. Gail Hein sent the story to us. Tell you Mother hi from us too. Sarah, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. We were so blessed to have become friends with you and Leon through Scott and Judi. It was so great to accompany all of you on your lunches at Torres so many years ago and hear Scott and Leon have so much fun together. They had a great friendship that grew and continued throughout the years. We still have the little Nikes that you and Leon gave to Caden when he was born and then passed them down to Conor. Now, they will be passed down again to Scott and Judi's new little boy. Leon was such a kind, gentle person with such a big heart and always had a smile on his face. We were so glad to have seen you both at the wedding. It was evident that you two truly loved each other whenever we saw you together! May Leon rest in peace. Sarah, may you find comfort in knowing that he loved you so much, and he is free from pain.
