Sharon Armitage

Sharon (Shari) Joann Armitage, 80, of Laurel, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, February 1, 2019. Shari was born on September 12, 1938 to Harry and Myrtle (Hagen) Brown. She graduated from Havre High School, and went on to get her cosmetology license. She married Doug, the love of her life, in May 1959. They shared 55 incredible years, and raised 4 children together. Her strong faith in the Lord kept her actively involved within the church community, including Dorcas, Christian Women's Club and the church choir, as she loved to sing. Shari was an avid painter and loved crafts. It brought much joy to her to create original pieces for others. She also enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shari will forever be loved and truly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard (Dick) Brown; niece, Debbie Brown; and beloved husband, Doug Armitage. Survived by Harriett (Harry) Brown, Jim (Betty) Brown, her 4 children, David (Ruby), Greg (Jamie), Michael (Sherri), Jami (Kevin) Flack, 2 nieces, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019, 11:00 am, at First Congregational Church, 506 S 5th St, Laurel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
