Daniel Gilstrap

Dan Gilstrap was born in Douglas, Wyoming on March 15, 1958. He passed away January 25, 2014 in an accident while doing what he loved – ice fishing. Dan is survived by his wife, Joni; sons Chris (Ashley) and Tyler; parents Bob (Jane) Gilstrap, Bonnie (Roy) Cook; sisters Cindi (Vernon) Austin and Vicki Colliflower; and Grandmother, Marguerite Lukens. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews. While growing up he lived in Wyoming, California, Illinois, Colorado and Michigan. Then he moved to Billings in 1983. In 1984 he married Joni and they were happily married for 30 years. Dan bought Meadow Green Lawn Service in 1998. He put many hours of hard work into this business that he was so proud of and felt that every customer was important. Dan truly loved spending time with family and friends in the outdoors. His greatest passions were hunting, fishing and camping. This is where he found the most joy in life. He loved family time and was an avid card game player. He was a soft spoken, gentle person with a kind heart. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends who loved and appreciated him so very much. Memorial Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 31 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1935 Ave. B.
