Vylo Glasgow

With her beloved husband and daughter by her side Vylo Raye Albers Glasgow, 68, departed this life on Sunday, October 28, 2012, in Billings, Montana. Born in Hazen, ND to Keith W. and Lorraine M. (Bergloff) Albers on November 17, 1943, the oldest of five children. Moving to Billings at a young age, she graduated from Senior High School in 1961 before going on to Billings Business College. During the summer of 1960 she met Bob Glasgow and fell in love with him immediately, they were married in 1962 by Father Zerrick and this past June celebrated 50 years of marriage. Bob and Loraye were blessed with a son and a daughter. Shortly after their marriage her parents moved to Oregon and her mother-in-law became her surrogate parent and remained very special to her throughout her life. Loraye spent her life caring for her home and family. Having worked on and off in Real Estate and various other jobs it was being a homemaker that she enjoyed the most and will be remembered for her cooking which always impressed everyone, especially during the holiday season. Her family always came first which was made evident by her heavy involvement in her children's Catholic education, having spent countless hours assisting the Sisters at Little Flower Catholic Elementary School. Her family remember the way she would call out when she heard them coming into the house, “Is that my Bob or is that my little girl”, and when they would leave the house; “You be careful now and drive safe!” Loraye was adventurous and loved, and made the most of every day, always generous with her smile and laughter. A private person, most of her time was spent with her family and daughter Michelle, particularly who over the years had become Loraye's best friend. Loraye enjoyed many activities including reading and corresponding with her sisters and nieces on her computer. Her favorite past time, however, was her pets, particularly her three wolf dogs: Schoena, her Siberian husky, Lobo, her hybrid arctic wolf and Kara Sea, her malamute. It was a sight to see when the three dogs would be vying for her attention. Her love for animals was also obvious in her television preferences, the Puppy Bowl and the Westminster Dog Show, being her annual favorites. She also loved watching sports, particularly baseball and boxing. Amongst her favorites were the Atlanta Braves, Derek Jeter and Muhammad Ali. She also loved music, especially from the 50's and 60's. A big fan of Elvis, and the tunes played by Major Dan Miller, she also enjoyed Bon Jovi for the last 25 years. Loraye is survived by her Bob; children: Bobby Glasgow of Denver, CO, Michelle Glasgow of Billings, sisters: Connie (Bob) Russell of WA, Renee (Roy) Hicks of OR, Roberta (Corky) Herman of OR; brother-in-law, Gary Glasgow of Billings; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets: Minnie her shelter dog and Jeter her miniature dachshund. In Loraye's memory her family would like to thank St. Vincents medical staff, all her doctors and especially all the nurses that did such a super job caring for her. Also we would like to thank the excellent staff and nurses in the TCU wing at Billings Health and Rehabilitation Center as well as those working for Hospice for all of their compassion and special care. Also special thanks to Father Houlihan, Father Patrick, and Father Steve Zabrocki. Service: A Vigil service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 30 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. The Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 31 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with committal of ashes to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
