Vega Godfrey

Vega Marie Godfrey was born on November 16, 1927, in Logan, Utah to E.O. Bergeson and Kenna Smith Bergeson. She was raised in Dayton, Idaho, along with her siblings, Ron, Tyra, and Travis. Vega married Max Lee Godfrey on May 22, 1945, in Elko, Nevada. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union, four children were born: Linda, Pat, Scott, Todd. Mom and Dad moved to Bozeman, Montana and later relocated in Dillon, Montana, residing there for the next 16 years. In 1972 they moved to Caldwell, Idaho, where they resided until their retirement in 1988. They spent the next 20 years wintering in Apache Junction, Arizona, spending their summers at the cabin in Polaris, Montana. Mom always said, “Those were the best years of their life.” Dad passed away in 1996, mom later moved to Billings, Montana. Mom was an active member of the LDS church, her faith never wavered. Mom will always be remembered for her “clam chowder” served at the annual Caldwell Idaho wrestling tournament, the “best bartender at the Grasshopper Inn” and her organizational skills as the social director for friends and family in Apache Junction. She is definitely doing the same in heaven; organizing and taking charge. Vega is survived by her children, Linda Larson (Bob), Caldwell, ID, Pat Scott (Gary), Billings, MT, Scott (Pam), Billings, MT and Todd (Kathy), Boise, ID; five grandchildren, Brett Scott, Shayne Scott (Mandy), A.J. Feeley (Heather), Mykal Larson (Tony), Dylan Godfrey; six great-grandchildren, Trey, Payton, Brayden, Christian, Connor, Blake; her brother, Travis (Linda), Moses Lake, WA; and her dear friends, Mariner and Gwen Ballard of Dillon, MT. Vega was preceded in death by her husband Lee, parents, EO and Kenna, brother Ron and sister Tyra. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Lee, in Weston, ID. Cremation has taken place.
