Tristin Gray

Tristen J. Gray, “Cedar Woman” and “Old Lady that Sings with the Eagles,” of Rocky Boy, passed away July 28, 2018. She was born February 6, 1996 to Jacquelena Big Hair and Reese M. Gray, Sr. in Havre, Montana. She attended Hardin, Chemawa, and Harlem schools. Tristen was quite the adventurer; she lived in Ft. Belknap, Rocky Boy, Hardin and Billings, Montana. Tristen worked at Rocky Boy Elementary. Tristen had many hobbies such as beading, going to Pow Wows, cruising, and loved to talk hair and makeup with everyone. She loved children; she left behind many children she loved and who loved her. Tristen leaves behind her beloved Sweetness “Sweets” Gray, a pet Chi weenie. She is survived by her parents Jacquelena Big Hair, Cheryl Horn, Reese Gray Sr.; brother, Reese “RJ” Gray Jr.; sisters, Selena Big Hair-Not Afraid, Sammi Jo Gray, Nakota Grayboy; grandparents, Angie Bell of Hardin and Jacob C. Big Hair Jr. of WA. Tristen also had many adopted brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her sister Zoe Big Hair; brothers, Preston Bell, Dakoda “Bucking Horse” Gray; great grandparents Preston and Sina Bell, Charles and Carolyn (Writing Bird) Grayboy; uncles Lyndon Grayboy and David Bell; and aunt Charlyis Grayboy. Tristen always had a smile on her face. Her laughter will always be with us. She belonged to the Professional Beaders Club and we will always cherish her earrings. “One love! One heart! Let's get together and be all right.” Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 2 - 1:00pm at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Hardin, Montana.
