Obituary
Phyllis Gregory, 91, passed away September 16, 2016 at Highgate Senior Living in Billings. She was born March 15, 1925 in Elgin, Illinois to Louis James and Mary (Wentzer) Holland. Phyllis graduated from high school in 1942 and West Suburban School of Nursing at Oak Park, Ill in 1946. She married Arthur (Pete) Gregory in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Billings in 1961 from the Washington, DC area. Phyllis was employed by St. Vincent Hospital and Health Center for 17 years. When Phyllis retired, she became a massage therapist/Reiki Master and was dedicated for years to helping others heal. She had strong spiritual beliefs that enabled her to walk through life gracefully and with dignity. She was very active in politics and at one time served as the president of the League of Women Voters. She enjoyed swimming, painting, gardening, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Phyllis loved her animals and also being with family and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1971, and brother. Survivors include her son, Mike (Alexandra) Gregory, daughters, Ann (Ron) Bellew of Billings, Susan Gregory of Albuquerque, Mary (Tod) Stutzman of Powell; grandchildren, Theresa Scully, Andrew and Shawn Gregory, Joshua Thomsen, Tyler Bellew, Lee and Lindsay Stutzman; great-grandchildren, Paige Thomsen, Jade Scully & Kirra Scully. Phyllis's family would like to extend a special thanks to the Highgate Senior Living where they provided a loving, caring atmosphere for her for 3 years. A private family memorial service will be held.

Dear Mary and family, We are so sorry for your loss and for the sadness and void left when you lose your mom. What I remember most about Phyllis is the way she would greet me when I came to your house; whether we were in the 7th grade or as we have turned 50 plus, I always felt so welcomed and felt that your mom was truly happy to see me. I remember when we were younger thinking that your mom was "ahead of her time" in her views and beliefs and I always admired her for that. Take gentle care. Love, Cathy and family
