Virginia Gross

Virginia Ruth was born on March 22, 1940 in Billings, MT to Buster and Margaret Woodward, joining big sister Judy. She and her family lived in Billings, Greybull, WY, Laurel, and Missoula. 10 years later her brother and best friend Vern came into her life. 10 years following, baby sister, Leslie Jo was born into the family. While living in Greybull, Virginia met her life-long friend Roberta. They remained friends until the day she died. During their 71 years long friendship they shared each other's joys and sorrows. In 1957 Virginia met the boy who changed her life! Mike was exciting and funny and charming. She fell in love. The day after her graduation, she married this boy on June 6, 1958. They spent the next 45 years together until Mike's death in 2003. To this union was born the joys of Virginia's life, Patricia Margaret "Trish", Michael Paul "Bud", Stephen John, and Christopher James. Virginia decided to return to college and graduated with a degree in Psychology in May 1980. Thus began a new chapter in her life. Virginia discovered that she was a gifted counselor and served addicted women for the next 36 years. During her career, she mentored many and made a difference in many lives. She was fulfilled. Virginia is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren: Luke (Heather), Zach (Mara), Jennifer, Tyler (Meahgen), Stephanie (Ryan), Elizabeth Rose, Mary, Michaela "Mickey," and Andy and five great-grandchildren with one on the way. Virginia is also survived by her siblings, Judy, Vern, and Leslie. Virginia had three godchildren, whom she adored: Angie, Lisa, and Dan. She is survived by three additional nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike, daughter-in-law Cyndi, granddaughter Emma Jo, and niece Debbie.
