Obituary
Scott Monsadius Hatzenbihler, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of family, on August 31, 2013 at the age of 46. A much adored husband, father, brother, son and friend, Scott bravely fought cancer, with a gentle kindness, and generous spirit, always putting the needs of his family and friends first. Scott was born on October 12, 1966 in Mandan, North Dakota, the youngest of ten children of Monsadius and Cecelia Hatzenbihler. Scott graduated from high school in Center, North Dakota in 1984 and married his high school sweetheart, Trudy Sack, on June 6th, 1992. Scott and Trudy were blessed with three beautiful children, Grant, Chase and Paige, and this amazing family shared a lifetime of fun and memories. Scott's number one passion was watching his kids play sports and participating in all of their activities. He loved boating, fishing, golfing, hunting and the Pittsburg Steelers, having been an ardent fan since childhood. He was always up for a friendly game of pinochle, and hosting many game nights. Scott was a Refinery Operator and Pipefitter for Mobil Oil Co. and Conoco for over twenty years. He was a strong, loyal, trustworthy individual who was immensely respected and admired by his co-workers. He had a contagious laugh and a smile that lit up a room and attracted a flock of devoted friends. He will be missed. Scott is survived by his wife, Trudy (Sack) Hatzenbihler; his three children, Grant, Chase and Paige; his father, Monsadius Hatzenbihler; nine siblings, Jill (Steve) Bosch, Neal (Linda) Hatzenbihler, Dean (Cris) Hatzenbihler, Kevin (Kim) Hatzenbihler, Arliss (Joe) Mahrer, Gail (Jim) Morton, Denise (Jim) Brorby, Raylene (Ernie) Vettel, and Brian (Leia) Hatzenbihler; mother-in-law and father-in-law Lenore and Jim Sack; and brother-in-law Trent (Shelly) Sack, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia Hatzenbihler. Memorial services will be Wednesday, September 5, 2013 at 11 am at St Bernard's Parish, 226 Wicks Lane. The vigil services will be held at St. Bernard's, Tuesday September 4 at 7pm. A “Scott Hatzenbihler Memorial Fund” has been established with First Interstate Bank Heights Branch, 730 Main Street, to assist with the education of his children. Trudy, Grant, Chase and Paige, We are sorry we couldn't be there for you on Saturday, hopefully the knowledge that Scott is no longer in pain and was able to go out on his terms will ease your pain and give you peace. We will miss Scott dearly, but have so many fond memories of our families activities together, countless FB, BB and soccer games, camping/boating and family vacations that he will live forever in our hearts. We feel blessed to have had him in our lives. He was a great husband, father and friend. You are in our prayers.

Trudy and family, My deepest condolences to all of you on the loss of Scott. What an amazing spirit he was, so full of joy and compassion. Was he ever in a bad mood? My kids asked me about Scott and I told them he was a coworker and a friend but also in many ways a mentor I looked up to and a person I try to model today. He had an open and friendly demeanor that made him so easy to get along with. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to visit with him again during a recent trip back to ND. He spoke of you and the kids with great pride and an ear-to-ear smile. We reminisced about my time in Billings and how things have changed over the years. With all the struggles he had endured he was still positive and optimistic. I have a smile on my face as I remember Scott with a smile on his.
