Robert Hayes

Robert (Bob) K. Hayes, Sr. ""Abie"" Bob Hayes ""Abie", 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2011, in Webster, SD, where his son and daughter-in law nurtured him these last few years. Bob was a member of the Teamsters Union and a truck driver most of his life. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, playing cards, and family reunions. He lived in Billings until 1980 when he transferred to Minneapolis, then returned to Billings after his retirement in 1991. Bob was the oldest of four children, born July 26, 1930, in Missouri, to Kennith and Ollie Mae Hayes. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lyle; son, Michael (Mick) Hayes; infant daughter, Peggy; and a spouse Margaret. He is survived by his sister Nancy Bloxom (Don) of Sheridan, WY; brother Larry (Janice) of Billings; sons, Bob, Jr.(Sue) of South Dakota; Bill of Billings; Ken (Sherri) of Florida; Andy (Kathy) of Florida; Randey (Kari) of Georgia; daughters, Donna Camrud (Merlin) of Colorado; Penny Hayes (Jeff) of Washington; Connie Dunn (Jim) of Alaska, and Susan Sullivan (Ed) of Alaska, and daughter-in-law Penny Hayes; thirty grandchildren and many great-grandchildren whom he treasured. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels 1505 Avenue D Billings, MT 59102-3053, or a charity of choice. Cemetery: Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Service: A memorial service will be June 2, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings.
