Arliss Johansen Heisler passed away April 2, 2019 in Billings, Montana. She was born April 4, 1938 on the family farm in Sheridan County, Montana, to Carrie and Viggo Johansen. She married Franklin Heisler in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plentywood, Montana. They leave behind their son Tim and Michelle Heisler; daughters Patricia Mohl, Peggy and Tom Liggett, Janice and Ed Bakken and Diane Heisler, all of Billings, Montana; grandchildren James Franklin Heisler, Steph Heisler and Kyle Mericle, Brian and Tashina Smith (Kaden), David and Samie Smith (Carson and Hadley), Eric and Amanda Robinson, Kelley and Patrick Diekemper, Jessica and Jason Teal (Connor) and Jordan Matney; sisters Shirley Hoffarth of Great Falls, Zelda Fink of Billings and Gladys Robertson of Plentywood; sisters-in-law Irene Hefenieder of Billings and Mary Baerlocher of Missoula; brother-in-law Edward Heisler of Plentywood. A family service and burial will be held later this summer at the family farm north of Plentywood.

Pat, Peggy, Janice, Diane, and Tim, - I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I can still remember the day you all left for Missoula. We all gathered in the back alley to bid farewell - many tears that day, but also lots of laughter! You all had many friends from Culbertson who remember the great times when you lived in town. The Lambert and Oelkers families still reminisce of all the fun times together and think of you often. Janice, as a fellow student in my class, I miss your wit and how you made me laugh, which also reminds me of your mother’s laugh as well. We lost our our brother Joe, in 1985 and our dear mother, Betty, two years ago. It is still very difficult to get over the fact that they’re gone. I can only imagine what you’re all going through. Think of the memories of both your mom and dad, as they were good people and will be missed. If you’re ever in Iowa, please look me up. In sincere sympathy, Jim Lambert, Altoona Iowa.
