Lois Heit

Lois Heit, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at St. Vincents, after a short illness. Lois was born Feb. 15, 1927, on the Stillwater at the Hudson Homestead to Ernie and Hattie Hudson.Lois married Charles Shearer and two daughters were born, who were the highlight of their mothers life. Lois did office work, then pursued a nursing career working as a CNA for 25 years in Columbus. She loved caring for people. Lois was an accomplished seamstress, gardener and baker. Her apple pies were out of this world. She loved dancing, camping, playing the piano and harmonica, and entertaining the grandkids. She was active in church activities and VFW. She was an inspiration to all of us. She was always there to lend a helping hand, no matter what needed done. On Sept. 25, 1961, she married Edwin Heit. She took care of Ed for 15 years after he had a stroke, paralyzing him on the left side. Lois was preceded in death by Ed after 38 years of marriage; her parents; three sisters and one brother. She is survived by a brother, Gene (Helen); and daughters Charlene (Jack) Hoffman and Joy Bossert; grandchildren Shawn (Michelle) Bossert, Craig (Heather) Bossert, Kevin Ostrum, Misty Ostrum and April Hoffman. Also nine great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Garrett, Harlee, Bodee, Hannah, Tanner, Korbyn, Nolan and Jordan; and a very special friend, Betty Lannen. She will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at Community Congregational Church in Absarokee, Saturday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow.rn rn
