Kurt Herrington

Kurt Anthony Herrington, 33, our beloved father, son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend was taken from us too soon on October 1, 2018. He was born on June 26, 1985 in Susanville, CA to Matt and Rosemarie (Rose) Herrington. Our beloved Kurt loved everything about life. He was a very dedicated father along with being a loyal delivery driver for 13 years. He was currently employed with Custom Delivery (8 years) and prior was a delivery driver for Big Sky Express of Billings (5 years). Kurt made many friendships along his routes he drove daily. Many customers would call the office on a regular basis and not ask when the delivery driver would be there but when Kurt would be there. His contagious laugh, smile and love of football captured every heart he came across. He had a way of making a positive impact on others through his stories and love for life. Many remember Kurt as the “Dirty Blond Boy” who rode his bike up and down the streets of his childhood town, Thermopolis, WY. He kept his parents busy with countless movie nights, sleepovers, games of tag and even sneaking in a kiss or two from the pretty girls. Kurt was all boy growing up, known as the bike mechanic. If he couldn't fix it, no problem, there was always a ride to be given on the handlebars or a skateboard to be pulled. 11 years ago Kurt's daughter and best friend was brought into his world. He spent all his time raising a strong and independent young lady. Kurt was the person that would go without before seeing another struggle which made him a great father. As he would always say “I could have nothing at all but still have everything”. He could walk into a room and instantly light up the room, he had a way of shining with his presence and contagious laugh. Those who knew Kurt knew about his passion for the bay area sport teams. Kurt was always talking about sports, watching sports or listening to podcasts whether it was the Warriors, Giants or his favorite, 49ers. His imagination had no limit and was something all envied. His big ideas and stories were something to behold. The world has truly lost a rare shining diamond. He will be truly missed by so many but never forgotten. Kurt is survived by his only daughter Nuvia; parents, Matt and Rosemarie Herrington; sister, April Carothers; brothers, Sean Minnix (Jessi), Aaron Minnix (Bobbie) and twin brother, Kory Herrington (Felicia); grandmother, Kathy Herrington; and many nieces and nephews (Austin, Amanda and Andrew Carothers, Asthon Minnix, Allison Winters, Anthony and Jayden Helmey). He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Herrington and grandparents, Allen and Mary Ellen Baumiller. The family would like to thank all the Emergency Responders, nurses and doctors at Saint Vincent's for the tremendous care they gave Kurt during his last hours of life.
