Obituary
Shirley Ann Badura (Slavish), wife, mother, grandmother, friend and loving soul has went to be with her eternal father on March 6, 2015. Shirley was born in Cleveland, OH on August 29th, 1942, the only child of John and Becky Slavish. She graduated from Belfry HS in 1960. She married her loving husband of 54 years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bridger, MT on September 3, 1960. Shirley was an army wife and worked as a secretary in the Missouri State Legislature in Kansas City and at Burlington Manufacturing. She finished ceramics school and had her home in Kansas City featured in the Better Homes & Garden Magazine while raising 3 young boys. Shirley and her family moved to Billings, Mt in '71 where she opened her own ceramic shop. She was especially skilled in handmade Porcelain Dolls. She was a phenomenal seamstress and painter and leaves behind priceless works of art and craftsmanship. Shirley and Martin ran the Stockman Bar in Bridger, Mt through the ‘70's before building their homestead and residence in Ennis, MT. Shirley took so much pride in her home, landscape, garden and her family. She had the magical touch to make things grow even in the worst soil. She loved growing her tomato plants and had an unprecedented passion for nourishing and growing the most beautiful flowers. For the past 16 years Shirley, with the help of Martin, loyally ran a rural mail route in Ennis. Shirley enjoyed delivering packages and the many letters for all her customers on her route. She was quite the organizer and planner and enjoyed hosting family functions. She especially loved the 4th of July in Ennis and making her “infamous Shirley's Ribs”! Christmas was her favorite holiday and for those who were fortunate enough to see her home during Christmas, it was truly a winter wonderland! She was especially proud to be a grandma and her grandkids meant the world to her. Her family was her life and there wasn't anything she wouldn't have done or sacrificed for them. The Lord has welcomed our beautiful Angel and his Kingdom will have the most breathtaking flower garden in Heaven. We Love you so much and will keep you in our hearts and memories forever. Rest in Peace. Shirley is survived by her loving husband Martin; Sons Tom, Kevin, Steven and Brent Badura; Daughter Susan Haskins (Brian); Granddaughter Chloe Schummer; Grandson Andrew Badura. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Becky Slavish. Shirley has received the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church. A Rosary and Visitation will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ennis, MT on Thursday March 12th at 7pm. A Friday Mass at 11am with a lunch to follow at St. Patrick's Church. There are so many beautiful memories of Shirley and the beauty and love she brought to all those around her. Two of my fondest memories: Shirley helping Susan and I get ready for prom and the absolutely beautiful accessories she made for my dress and my hair...I am sure you remember, Susan, how she made everything perfectly with such skilled hands, with much the same attention to detail as she had put into all other facets of her life. The other favorite memory was coming back together with your family over the 4th of July in 2009. Shirley's amazing ability to prepare the most delicious food, her impeccable home, her luminous smile and warmth, and just being there with the entire family...just a beautiful memory I will never forget.
