Alan Jolley

Alan Dale Jolley passed away on September 27, 2017. He was born on January 13, 1930 in Leeton, Utah. He was the sixth of 10 children born to Raymond Lorenzo Jolley and Eva May Halverson Jolley. At a very young age his family learned that they could rely on him and his many skills and talents. The Jolley family moved from Utah to Cowley, Wyoming when he was 11. They lived in Big Horn County for many years. In 1951, Alan joined the Navy where he served for four years and saw much of the world. After being honorably discharged he returned to Lovell, Wyoming where he met Elma Lovina Zeller. They were married in Lovell on April 29, 1955. They were sealed in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple in 1957. Six children were born to this union. Alan and Elma moved their family to Billings in March, 1965. Alan worked in the food services industry until his retirement in 1994. He taught his family the value of hard work and commitment. He often said, “You have two hands and one mouth.” He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane Jolley Watson, five of his six children, Marianne (Scot) Stoddard, Janet (Clark) Lloyd, Lisa (Garth) Stevens, A. Dale(Corene) Jolley, and Daniel Z. (Jenny) Jolley. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elma, their son, Randy Jolley, son-in-law, Scot Stoddard, two granddaughters, his parents and 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the LDS Avenue D chapel located on 6th Street West and Avenue D. Visitation will begin at 8:30 A.M.
