Richard Justice

Rick Justice, Sr. passed Sunday morning, February 5, 2017 after a two and a half year battle with lung cancer. He was born in Estherville, Iowa in 1957. In 1971 at the age of 13 he moved with his family to Billings, MT. He attended Billings Senior High School where he met his wife, Carol. They married and moved to Estherville in 1976, where they raised three very rambunctious boys. The family then returned to Billings in 1993, where Rick enjoyed the remainder of his very busy life. Rick had a passion for helping people whether it was simple home repairs or saving lives. He was a hero to many; his chosen, life-long career and true calling as a firefighter led to an impressive collection of firefighting memorabilia. Rick loved pawn shops and antiques and spent many hours shopping, building his collection. Rick made people who visited his home feel warm and welcomed, and he required a tour of his basement, where he proudly displayed his extensive collection. He was active with the F.O.E post #176, and spent many years as a member. Rick enjoyed fishing and camping with his oldest son Chris; snowmobiling and camping with middle son Jared; and riding his Harley and working on his Gran Torino with his youngest son Rick Jr., and riding with the Iron Warriors, as a Life Member. Rick also rode professionally in hill climb races with his boys. Trips to Sturgis were made as often as possible to spend time with his wife and very dear friends, Dick and Lorri Beaver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Justice, Beverly Togstad, and her husband, Virgil. He is survived by his wife, Carol Justice; his sons and their families: Chris, Shauna, McKinsey, and Ethan Justice; Jared, Leslie, Morgan, Mya, and Kylie Justice; and Rick Jr., Erin, and Desmond Justice; brothers and sisters, Mike (Janet) Justice, Robert and Jim Coon, Sandy Jolliffe, and Kathy (Charles “Tiny”) Askvig; father-in-law Jim (Julie) Ostermiller; brothers-in-law David (Ginger) Ostermiller, Keith Ostermiller, Roger (Shelley) Ostermiller, Scott (Candy) Ostermiller; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends too numerous to list. A memorial service will be held at Faith Chapel, 517 S Shiloh Rd in Billings, MT at 11:00am Friday, February 10th.
