Mary Kastl

Mary Ruth (Jo) Kastl passed away at Butterfly Homes in Billings June 29, 2018. Mary was born March 28, 1923 in Hardin, MT to Sherman and Emma Beall. Mary has always been called Jo by family and friends. Mom went to 12 years of school in Hardin, graduating in 1941. She went to Vancouver, Washington to help with the war effort. She married Henry Luther Kastl on September 22, 1945. Hank and Jo moved back to Billings in 1950 with sons Gregory and David. Mom spent most of her life working in the floral business, 25 years at the State Fair, and also serving as Worthy Matron in Eastern Star. Jo was preceded in death by her husband Hank, son Greg and her siblings. Jo is survived by son David of Helena, granddaughter Christina Kastl-Lopez of Denver and granddaughter Monica (Eric Tavenner) of Billings, 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
