David Kautsky

David (Dave) Scott Kautsky, 51, died at Billings Clinic on Friday, December 7, 2018 after a long battle with alcoholism. Dave was born in Billings, Montana on February 3, 1967 to Rita (Gee) and Gary Kautsky. He attended Billings public schools and graduated from Billings Senior High in 1985. He married Colleen (Nuernberger) March of 1990 and they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Josie Kautsky, in February of 1993. Dave and Colleen were divorced in 1996. Dave's quick wit and storytelling abilities led him into a career of industrial equipment sales. He loved traveling across Montana and North Dakota visiting his customers at the various mines and companies that were his clients and making new friends along the way. Throughout his younger years, Dave was an avid fisherman, a passion he shared with his late father and he enjoyed teaching his daughter. He was also known to enjoy a few rounds of golf when he could get them in. He could often be found watching the Yankees, hoping for a world-series run, cheering for his LA Rams, or trying to figure out how soccer works while watching Josie play. His family is sure he will continue to watch these games from the nosebleeds. Many thanks go to the staff of Billings Clinic for their tireless efforts to help improve Dave's quality of life. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. In lieu of gifts or flowers the family requests that you make memorial donations to Rimrock Foundation. He is survived by Josie Kautsky, his beloved daughter; Carrie Gall, his loving sister; Christie Kautsky, his stepmother; Janeen Parries and Jason Gee, his stepsister and brother; his loving Aunt and Uncle, Patsy (Kautsky) and Augie Bentz. He also leaves behind several cousins from both sides of the family. And last but not least, his faithful companion Maggie.
