Allegra Kemph

Allegra Florine (Weaver) Kemph, 94, passed away on June 2, 2015 at St John's Lutheran Home in Billings, MT. Florine (as she preferred to be called) was born November 29, 1920 in Logan, MT to Alpheus Francis Aldrich and Anna Elizabeth Davis. She grew up and went to grade school in Logan and then high school in Manhattan, MT. She met Alexander Davis Weaver and the two were married on September 29, 1937. They had two boys, David and Daniel Weaver while they lived in Logan. Alex was drafted to serve in the Army during WWII so they moved to Algona, WA where their daughter, Alexis, was born. After the war, the family moved back to Bozeman, MT where they bought land and developed a subdivision. It was in Bozeman where their fourth child, Andrew, was born. Alex passed away in April, 1969 of cancer. Florine then went back to school, completed her GED, went to nursing school and became an LPN. She worked at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital until her retirement in 1973. Florine was a longtime member of the Sons and Daughters of the Pioneers. After her retirement, she sold her home near Bozeman, purchased a motor home and she and her faithful companion, Lady, traveled to Arizona for the winters. In the summers she lived in Boulder, MT near her daughter, Alexis. It was there that she met her husband Marsh Hager and lived in Whitehall, MT until his death. While she was living in Whitehall she helped with the building of the Assembly of God Church. Florine loved to travel and took trips to Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. It was while she was on her Alaska trip that she suffered a heart attack and was troubled with heart problems off and on for years. She eventually moved to Billings, MT to be near her eldest son, David. It was while she was living in Billings that she met her husband Aaron Kemph, who also preceded her in death. She continued to enjoy her life in Billings and was active in senior center activities and loved to dance, you could find her on the dance floor into her early in her 90's. Survivors include sons, David (Phyllis) Weaver of Billings, Daniel (Janet) Weaver of Belgrade, MT and Andrew (Dell) Weaver of Fairfax, VA; daughter, Alexis (Oliver) Mc Groarty of Dublin, Ireland; grandchildren, Terry, Russell, Scott, Karin, Brenda, Dana and Marty; great grandchildren, Alexander, Jesse, Amanda, Amber, Aiden and Nolan; sister, Gerine Lofftus of AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings, MT. Interment will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Bozeman, MT at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
