David Kessler

David C. Kessler was born November 16, 1945 to Clarence and Wilma Kessler in Dubuque, Iowa. Moving shortly after (along with his sister Pat and brother Don), the family moved to Billings, MT, where David attended Holy Rosary and Central High School. August 27, 1966 he met and married the love of his life, Judy Lee. Shortly after getting married David joined the Army and was sent to Vietnam to serve in the war. The following 8 years David and Judy were blessed with four daughters, Teresa, Michelle, Susan and Kimberly. After struggling to find purpose and hope in life, David and Judy found the TRUE meaning of life, Jesus Christ! David worked several jobs throughout the years, but none as important and meaningful to him as being a Children's Church Pastor for 15+ years. He led numerous children and adults to the Lord during his life. One of his greatest prides was serving as Children's Pastor the last 5 years of his life at Mountain Crow Worship Center in Pryor, MT. He never faltered to believe and trust in Jesus through many trials and health issues. Due to exposure to Agent Orange in the war, David struggled with several health issues including a terminal lung disease. You'd rarely know the pain he was enduring because of his selfless nurturing of others and their struggles. He will always be remembered for his passion for the sick, the lost, for prayer, and a closer walk with God. He would always encourage by using the Word of God and by saying things like “just take one day at a time”, and “just trust in God”. David loved to worship God by praying, singing and listening to music, and by painting. In fact, the very last morning of his life on the earth, he was singing to Kari Jobe's song “I am not Alone”. David was a strong warrior for God, accomplishing one of the most difficult tasks in life, raising and leading his entire family to Lord. All four of his daughters are serving the Lord alongside their husbands and raising their children the same way. His last desire was for his sons-in –law to carry the mantle and be Godly leaders in their homes. His constant prayer was for his seven grandchildren to carry on his legacy by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and find their true purpose in serving God. 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
