Rosemary Klein

Rosemary Rose (Roth) Klein died on January 5, 2016 at Valley Healthcare Center at the age of 97. Rosemary was born in Belfield, North Dakota on April 17, 1918 to Elizabeth (Ott) and Adam Roth. She was the second of nine children. Rosemary was a fun loving person and as a young woman played the guitar and sang at local church dances. Rosemary married John R. Klein in Belfield, North Dakota on September 6, 1937. Shortly after, they moved to Montana. They lived in Bridger, Fromberg and Laurel, finally moving to Billings in 1956. From this union, four children were born: Richard, Darlene, Julie Ann and Bob. Rosemary was active at Holy Rosary Parish from 1956 until she moved from 436 Custer Ave. in 2004. She was an accomplished cook and baker—having been featured in the Billings Gazette several times. She loved her job at Security Bank from which she retired on March 31, 1980. Survivors are two daughters, Darlene (Jim) Wilhelm of Portland and Julie Ann (Tom) Prill of Laurel, one son Bob (Ruby) Klein of Billings, daughter-in-law, Marcia Klein of Portland, eight grandchildren, Kurt Wilhelm, Kevin Wilhelm, Scott Klein, Michelle Klein Brown, Carolyn Prill Bennett, Tom Prill,Jr., Anthony Prill, Christopher Klein, fifteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Surviving siblings are George Roth of Calhan, Colorado and Eleanor McCauley of Eugene, Oregon. Rosemary also had numerous nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, John, son, Richard Klein of Portland, her parents, brothers John, Phil and sisters Martha, Frances, Margaret and Kay. Mother, Grandmother, Aunt Rose and Rosemary - we love you and you will be greatly missed. Rest in the peace of God the Father and His Son, Jesus. Vigil will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 am with interment in the Laurel Cemetery.
