I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. One encouraging thought you might find comforting is found at John 5:28, 29. “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” God gives us this beautiful hope that he will soon resurrect our dead loved ones and we can see them again on a paradise earth. If you’d like to learn more about this hope, feel free to visit JW.org.

I am so sorry to have not heard of Mert's passing until today. I served as county treasurer from 1989 - 1994, and counted Mert as a true friend. He was a wealth of knowledge, and always seemed to have a smile when we got together to discuss county business or just to chat. My prayers go out to his family. God bless. Kevan Bryan

Oh, I am so saddened to learn of Mert's passing. He hired me at the courthouse and I had the joy of working with him for 2 years before he retired. He taught me so much! He was excellent at his job, and I so enjoyed when he would stand his ground against the county commissioners! And....he was usually right! Mert was more than a boss to me.....he was like a grandfather! He would share stories with me from his past, and I always enjoyed hearing about Honey! I worked for the courthouse for 9 years, but truly missed Mert when he retired. Please accept my deepest sympathies. All I can say is....a life well lived! He will be missed!
