Margaret Ligget

Our dear Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmother, Margaret Lynn (Peggie) Ligget, passed away September 25, 2019 at her home in Billings Montana. Born in 1945, Peggie attended local Catholic grade schools and high school, graduated from Billings Senior, and went on to study for her secretarial skills. Peggie had a wonderful childhood in Billings and enjoyed horseback riding and shows at the Billings Saddle Club. During the cold Montana winters she loved ice skating on her Dad's famous rink in the back yard and Pioneer Park. She played the piano and babysat for everyone, saving every penny. Peggie worked at various secretarial jobs before accepting employment at a local motor freight company until her retirement. Being a devout Catholic, she served as a lector at St. Patrick and wherever else in the Church she could be helpful, including sending birthday cards to parishioners for many years. Spending holidays and special events with her grandchildren was something she looked forward to and the good meals prepared by her daughter-in-law. In her spare time, she attended Rodeo events, sometimes in person and other times on television - especially bull riding, paying close attention to the local champion! She had many special friends and neighbors (and their dogs) along with her favorite cardiac exercise group. Peggie is leaving her precious dog Abby and her beloved son, Brice Ligget (Deb), and her treasured grandchildren Kirk, Rhys and Miles. Missing her are her sisters, Sharon Noennig, Barbara McCarthy (J.C.) and Sue An Ligget-Menne (Steve), her nieces Molly McCarthy (Max Stevens), Lindy McCarthy (Drew Persoon), Rory McCarthy, and Carly McCarthy, plus her grandniece Kyla McCarthy and niece Angie Galda (Edward). Peggie is now reunited with her parents, Warren and Kaye Ligget, her nephew Jeff and many loved aunts and uncles. Peggie's vigil and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 10th at 6:00pm at Dahl's Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Ave., Billings MT 59101 Catholic funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 12:00pm at St. Patrick Co-Cathedral, 215 N. 31st St., Billings MT 59101, with reception following. Private interment will be held at a later date. Donations in Peggie's memory can be made to St. Patrick Co-Cathedral, Billings Food Bank, St. Vincent DePaul in Billings or Habitat for Humanity, Billings.
