Doris Lindevig

Doris (Tully) Eggum Lindevig was born January 28th, 1922 to Albert and Alinda (Smith) Tully in Bungay Suffolk, England. When she was 12 years old her family moved to Cambridge where Doris finished her education at age 14. In 1942 (During WWII) Doris joined the "Women's Royal Naval Service" (WRENS) serving at "H.M.S. Pembroke" (Chatham) and "H.M.S. Scala Flow" (Orkney Islands). She was honorably discharged from the Navy in December 1944. On December 3rd, 1944 Doris met Sgt. Marlow Eggum of Richey, Montana (serving in the 8th Army-Airforce) they were married on April 28th, 1945. Marlow returned to the United States in August of 1945 while Doris sailed on the Queen Mary in March of 1946. Doris and Marlow lived in Richey, where Marlow worked for the R.E.A. for 14 yrs. Three children, Wayne, Carole and Sheila, were born to Doris and Marlow. Marlow was killed in an electrical accident on July 5th, 1964 near Lindsey, Montana. In September of 1965 Doris married Norman Lindevig of Lambert. They continued to live in Richey and Lambert until they retired to Sidney in 1975. Doris was a member of the C.M. Alliance Church in Richey and Sidney and was active in choir, Alliance Ladies and Mission Band. Doris is survived by her son, Wayne Eggum of Salt Lake City, Utah; her daughters, Carole Eggum of Billings, Montana and Sheila (John) Fink of Deer Park, Washington; six grandchildren, Kyle (Angie) Eggum, Cozette Fink, Cody (Anna) Fink, Gavin (Nikki) Flexer, Mara (Zach) Flynn and Bryce (Jennilynn) Flexer; four great grandchildren, Kylah Fink, Paige Flexer, Tully Morton and Normie Eggum; and numerous nieces and nephews in England. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and her husbands, Marlow Eggum and Norman Lindevig.
