My thoughts are with you, Mary, during what I know is a sad, sad time for you. You know your dad is gloriously alive and blissfully happy; always, our tears are for ourselves and the hole in our lives. May God hold you gently in the hollow of His hand, comfort you, and lead your heart to peace. Love, Sharon

Ray was my dad's best friend. They enjoyed many lively political discussions over the years. Ray also took my son Corey fishing shortly after his Grandpa Bale died, a kindness I've never forgotten. My favorite memory of Ray was the time I was getting royally chewed out by my parents for reasons I've forgotten. In the middle of the tirade, the doorbell rang. There was Ray, cheerful as always. I promptly took off for the basement. Thanks, Ray!
