Daniel Manni

The sounds of the New Year ringing in had barely subsided when Dan made his decision that enough was enough. Dan had many ailments but respiratory failure was the cause of his death. Dan excelled in sports from a very young age, until his knees forced him to quit. He excelled in football, track, wrestling (he was state champ) and slow pitch softball. Dan when he was able loved to hunt, fish and looked forward to floating trips on the Bighorn and Yellowstone with friends. Our annual family fishing trips to Canada, Fort Peck, Lake Oahe, or Lake Sakakawea were always highlights of his summer. Dan attended Newman School, Riverside, and East Jr. High (Great Falls), Will James and graduated from West High in 1974. Dan also attended Eastern Montana College for a few years, but that was mostly a cover for playing ‘31' in the SUB till noon and then down to the ‘Hanging Tree.' Dan was one funny son of a gun and his ability to remember all the great stories will be missed. His laugh and chuckle was unique and of significant volume as to include many in the humorous moment. Dan's passing goes with great sadness but there is comfort in knowing that where he is now is without pain and suffering. He will be missed, but defiantly remembered and included in the good times to come. Dan was preceded in death by his Father Jake Manni, Aunt Mary Manni, Uncles; Jim Hyde, Paul Manni; and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Dan is survived by his mother Maxine (Petie) Manni, brother; Tom Manni, sister; Lori Manni-Kautz (Robert); Aunt; Corky Hyde, Uncle; Jim McArthur (Linda) niece and nephew; Michelle and Sean Kautz, great nieces; Bella and Violette, great nephew; Sawyer and all our wonderful cousins. There is a Celebration of his Life planned for Friday January 12, at 4:00pm Knights of Columbus 2216 Grand all family and friends invited.
