Lila Markwald

Lila Ann Markwald completed her journey to heaven Friday February, 16, 2018 after a seven-year battle with lung cancer. Lila was born July 17, 1947 in Williston, North Dakota to Irvin and Marion Evanson (Pieters). Lila's parents farmed in the Fairview, Montana area at that time. Her early years were spent growing up in the Sidney and Fairview areas of Montana. Lila attended grade school in Trenton, North Dakota and Fairview, Montana. She graduated from Sidney High School in Sidney, Montana. She began a long career as a legal secretary at the Habedank law firm in Sidney. During that time she married Thomas Biehl. From that union four sons were born: Daniel, David, Mathew and Michael. Mathew preceded his mother in death as the result of a vehicle accident. December 20,1979 she was wed to Raymond Markwald. They raised her three sons and his three children Janel, Brian and Holli in Missoula, Bainbridge Island, WA, Orlando, FL, Atlanta, GA and Billings, MT. Lila retired in December 2017 from the Crowley Fleck Law Firm after 20 years of service as Legal Secretary. She enjoyed her long career as a legal Secretary. Lila and Ray attended Calvary Chapel of Billings. They enjoyed their Church family. I am sure she will be missed by many. Lila earned a degree in Bible that was presented to her in November 2002 from Shalom Bible College. Lila is survived by her husband Ray of Billings; her mother, Marion Evanson of Miles City; three sons Daniel of Billings, David (Mary) of Abilene, Texas, Michael Of North Mankato, Minnesota and brothers Bill of Sidney, Montana and John Evanson of Union Gap, Washington. Her father, Irvin, preceded her in death.
