Sharon McCullough

Sharon McCullough June 3, 1935-August 30, 2019 On August 30, 2019, the world lost a truly kind and gentle soul. A devoted wife of fifty-nine years, loving Mother to three children and a true gift, to all of us who knew her. Even though Sharon spent eighty-four years with us, for those left behind, her time on earth will always be considered, to have been far too short. Growing up in Kansas, Sharon embraced life and all it had to offer. At nineteen, she married the love of her life, her husband Victor. Sharon and Vic worked tirelessly to build a life for themselves and their three children. After working her way through college, Sharon began a career in the oil business, which began in Denver and would eventually bring her to Billings, MT. A lifelong believer in community service, Sharon taught the lessons of the Lord in Sunday School and passed on her personal life lessons, serving as Girl Scout Troop leader. Sharon led by example, teaching everyone with whom she came in contact, the value of kindness, honesty and love. After Vic's death in 2013, Sharon returned to Billings. Thankful for the kindness and compassion shown to her during Vic's last months, Sharon began working with Rocky Mountain Hospice, helping to ease the pain of others, now experiencing, what she herself had endured. Never shying away from hard work, Sharon always made time for her family and friends. Whether cheering for her beloved Mustangs Baseball team or boating at Cooney Reservoir, Sharon embraced life, loved her family and lived as an example of a decent and kind individual. We will never forget Sharon or truly recover from the hole her passing has left in our lives. Her last full measure was given, expressing her trust in the Lord and her courage to face death head on, without fear of what would come next. Sharon is survived by her oldest daughter Kelly, son Michael, youngest daughter Michelle; brother Jeffery Darr; sisters Carol Barban and Rhonda Smith; as well as Toni Darr, Dennis McCullough, numerous nieces and nephews and her specially chosen granddaughter, Laura Schwab. Comforted by the belief we will one day all be together again, we will strive to live the lessons Sharon taught us and honor her life, as she deserves.
