Obituary

In the early morning hours of Thursday, June 18th, Beverly Jean McRae entered her eternal reward. Bev was a much beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, foster mother, and babysitter. Everyone who knew her was blessed by her kindness and generosity. ‘Mama Bev' always had room in her heart for one more person to love. A daughter of Montana, she was born and raised in Missoula, attended college in Washington at Pacific Lutheran University and lived in Wisconsin while her husband Robert McRae obtained his Doctorate degree before finally settling back in Montana where she happily spent the rest of her life. She was fortunate to have been raised in a God fearing (or God loving) household. Her family's love for the Lord and Beverly's genuine love for all people resulted in her lifetime devotion spent serving others. Besides two children born to them naturally, she and her husband, Bob, broke 1960's community norms by adopting eleven children from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Beverly regularly opened her home to women's bible studies and used her musical talents to play piano and organ for numerous churches. She and Bob ministered to countless people during their 58 years together, giving selflessly to each person whenever and wherever help or counsel was needed. To those left behind she will be missed terribly. However, her fellow Believers in Christ are not left with emptiness. Bev knew we share a living HOPE because of our savior's promise of reunion. She is survived by sisters Doris (Marvin) Reich, Lorraine (Keith) Moyer, Judi (Gene) Dundas; her husband Robert; children Ross, Quentin (Rila), Kendall (Laura), Mary, Stuart (Helaine), Anne, Sarah, Keith & Michelle, Kathryn & Nolan, William, and Emily; 30 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many unofficial extended Family members too numerous to count. Two daughters, Janet and Leigh, and two grandsons, Sam and Caleb preceded her in death. A viewing will be at Dahl Funeral Chapel Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. Private family interment will be in Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel and memories may be shared with the family at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com

Beverly was alot of things, best of all she chose to be my mother when I was 4 years old. Went through an awful lot together, and through it all we learned about love and forgiveness and second chances. Not a day has gone by without thoughts of her, and I MISS HER TERRIBLY! I love you, mother! Your son Keith
