Meyer family. I am so sorry to hear that Dan passed away. Dan was a year older than me at Dowling and I was a teammate on that State runner up team. Dan had such a passion for basketball and always brought fun to practice, games, and any extracurricular activities the team did together. It sounds like those characteristics carried throughout his life. I have not seen Dan since the late 80’s, but after reading this tribute, it made me realize all the blessings he brought to others for the past 30 years. What a gift. God bless all of Dan’s family, and know many of us old Maroons are thinking of him. Brian Morris

Like everyone, I’m numb from hearing the news of Dan’s passing. We on earth have lost a caring and irreplaceable person, but heaven has gained an amazing spirit. I’m sure that Jesus was smiling when he came face to face with Dan. I met Dan in 1985 at Army basic training in El Paso TX and we went to flight school together in AL. I remember the first time meeting Dan and knew immediately that he was a special person and was to become a great friend. He was a groomsman in my wedding in 1990. To see him over the years grow to be a success person, husband and father was joyous to observe. He loved his family, so much, and talked about them with pride and love. I want to share comfort to the family that Dan is alive in heaven and that you will see him again. I pray for peace and comfort for Flori, Daniel, Dillon, Blayne, Marin, and the rest of the family. With love from a heartbroken friend of the magnetic and awesome Dan Meyer, Brian Foster

Flori, Daniel, Dillon, Blayne, Marin, our deepest, deepest sympathy on your unexpected loss. Words fail to express our sorrow for you all. We were blessed to be able to call Dan a friend and to know his giving heart , his humor, and that wonderful smile. His love and pride in all of you was always forefront in everything he did and any conversation we had. May God enfold you in his arms and hold you close during this difficult time. Our family will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless - Blake, Kim, Chere' and Mitchell Anderson.
