Kirk Mogen

Kirk Mogen, 57, of Lockwood, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, January 31, 2014. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his wife, children and other friends and family. Kirk was born on October 21, 1956 in Glasgow, MT to Harold and Thelma Mogen. He was the fifth of six children. He was preceded in death by his parents. Kirk is survived by his wife, Jill, two daughters, Tara and Christina, as well as his five siblings and numerous nephews and nieces. Kirk was a Respiratory Therapist at Billings Clinic for 26 years. He was known for his consummate professionalism as well as a dry and sarcastic wit. Kirk possessed an exceptional amount of empathy, support and loyalty to his family, friends, co-workers and patients. Kirk loved hiking and camping in the Beartooths, especially his favorite camping spot overlooking Chief Joseph Pass. Kirk was known to those who hiked with him as, 'Quarter Mile Kirk' as every hike was only about a quarter of a mile, no matter how long and exhausting the hike was. He always cheered the Vikings even though they never won a Super Bowl. In family get togethers, his guitar and his ability to remember words and music will be greatly missed. Kirk was dependable, kind and caring. Family, friends and co-workers will miss him greatly. An informal celebration of his life will be held at the Billings Clinic Mary Alice Fortin Center Rm B (adjacent to the cafeteria) on Sunday, February 9 at 3:00 pm. Please no flowers; instead kiss, hug and tell your loved ones how much you care as you never know when the last time will be.
