Jean died September 19, 2015 at the age of 88. She was born July 16, 1927 in Richmond, Utah the daughter of Leo and Pearl Bateman. She was married to Leo Monforton until his death in November 1990. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Gordon and Vickie Hirschi, Wayne and Carol Hirschi, Jay and Cheryl Hirschi, Dick and Julie Hirschi and Jack Hirschi; her daughters and their husbands, Sherrie and Vern Wilson and Jill and Tank Nuss. She had 18 grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. She came from a family of 10 siblings and is also survived by her brothers, Bud Bateman, Denny Bateman and Dick Bateman and his wife Elaine; her sisters, Bonnie Sorenson and LaRee and her husband Gary Burtock; and many nieces and nephews. Jean had many interests and hobbies which included painting, jigsaw puzzles, walking, arts and crafts and feeding the ducks. In her younger years she enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with family and friends. During WWII at the age of 15, she was a "Rosie the Riveter" that worked on planes and also gun barrels for the Navy. She loved anything that flies: planes, birds and her super hero "John Wayne." A graveside memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

My sincere condolences for the loss of your dear mother, Jean. May you find comfort in God's promise to soon "swallow up death forever...and wipe away the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25;8) God also promises of a time soon when " no resident will say : I am sick." (Isaiah 33:24) That is a wonderful time to look forward to!

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy in the loss of Jean. I first met her 50 years ago when she had quite the job of keeping the seven Hirschi kids in line! I always enjoyed visiting with her.as she was such a character and always kept things lively. My thoughts are with you.

JoAnn (Dennis) Ostermiller I am saddened by the news that Jean has passed away. What a Gal! What a Broad! She lit up the room when she entered it. She never met a stranger. She was a force to be reckoned with and could keep up with the best of them. Loved the sound of her voice and her laughter OMG was contagious! She did a right fine job raising her clan, she loved you all! She will be sorely missed. Heaven is in for a treat for sure! God Bless you all.

Thank you everyone. You're right JoAnn and Susan, she did a great job with the seven of us. I think that was her greatest job! She will be greatly missed and thought of often. Love and miss her dearly. Thanks to everyone who came to say good-bye, it was a great feeling to all that turned out for the family. THANKS!!
