I did not know your wife, mother, grandmother, and most likely friend to many, but I read the obituary b/c I recognized her last name and suspected she might be the mother to Joyce, who I knew at Carroll College so many years ago. What a beautifully written story of her life! It sounds like she lived her life to the fullest and left much love, joy and wisdom in her wake. My heartfelt sympathy to Joyce and all of her family for the loss of someone who was obviously a beacon throughout your lives! May she rest in peace, and may perpetual light shine upon her. I had given Jan some iris from my flower garden, and, each time I saw her she'd comment on how much she enjoyed them. I was always amazed at something that was overcrowding my flower bed gave so much joy to someone I shared them with! Ray and family, I am so sorry to hear about Jan's passing. In a professional sense Jan, had helped me in a several real-estate transactions over time. Over time our contact grew into a friendship that lasted many years. Enjoyed several yummy lunches with her and Ray. Jan will be another bright light that is added to the Lord's Kingdom. Jan was always so kind and gracious. She was truly a lovely woman! I'm so happy that I could spend Christmas dinner with you all last year and see her smile as she was surrounded by her loving family. Thank you for including me and I am so saddened by passing.
